The stretch of coast between Puerto Banús and Marbella – the Golden Mile – is where most jet ski tours on the Costa del Sol operate. Some depart from Puerto Banús marina itself, others launch from along the Golden Mile. Either way, you get 20 to 60 minutes on the Mediterranean with the Sierra Blanca mountains behind you, the super-yachts of Puerto Banús to one side and open water ahead. No experience or licence required.
- 01Two tours: a 20-minute Golden Mile blast (the best-reviewed intro) or the 1-hour coastline run towards Marbella town for more distance and open throttle
- 02Charged per jet ski, not per head – one rider or two on the same ski costs the same, so a couple effectively pays half each
- 03You must be 18 to drive; under-18s ride as a passenger behind a licensed adult
- 04No experience or licence needed – full shore briefing, guide leads at a controlled pace
- 05Book ahead in July and August – slots fill fast and walk-up availability is limited
Tour Options & Prices
Jet ski pricing on the Costa del Sol is charged per jet ski, not per person. One rider or two on the same ski costs the same, so a couple splitting the cost effectively pays half.
| Tour | Duration | Price per jet ski (up to 2) | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jet Ski at the Golden Mile | 20 min | From €60 | Quick first experience |
| Jetski along the coast | 1 hour | From €190 | Longer ride, more distance |
The 20-minute Golden Mile session is the most popular and one of the best-reviewed water activities in Marbella. At €60 for two people (€30 each) it is a genuinely low-risk way to try it. The route follows the Golden Mile, the stretch of coast between Puerto Banús and Marbella lined with luxury villas and beach clubs.
The 1-hour coastline tour covers far more ground – out towards Marbella town and back, with time to open up the throttle on the longer straights. At €190 per ski, two people pay €95 each, which is competitive for a full hour on the water.
What to Expect on the Day
Operators are based along the Puerto Banús waterfront, and your booking confirmation gives the exact meeting point – arrive 15 minutes before your slot for the briefing and life jacket. That briefing covers how to start, stop and steer, how to signal the guide, and the route, taking 10–15 minutes; pay attention, as the throttle is more responsive than it looks.
Tours then run in a convoy with the guide setting the pace – open the throttle on open water, slow down near the shore – and most head east from Puerto Banús towards Marbella, with the Golden Mile's villas and hotels as the backdrop and views back to the marina and mountains. The 1-hour tours are faster and cover more coastline.

Practical Tips
Wear a swimsuit under shorts or a light layer and bring dry clothes for after; leave phones and valuables in a marina locker, as there is no safe way to carry them on the water. Apply high-factor sunscreen before you set off – the sea reflects UV and the wind hides how much sun you are getting until later.
Seasickness is rarely an issue, as you are too busy controlling the throttle to feel queasy, but anyone sensitive to rough water should take a morning slot when the sea is calmest. If you want photos, confirm beforehand whether the operator shoots from the shore – you cannot safely take your own while riding.
Getting to Puerto Banús
Puerto Banús is 7 km west of Marbella town centre, off the A-7 motorway. By car, exit at Puerto Banús and follow signs to the marina. Paid parking is available nearby.
From Marbella, a local bus (line M-110) runs to Puerto Banús regularly. A taxi from Marbella town centre takes 10 minutes. For everything else based here, see the Marbella things to do guide and the Puerto Banús yacht charter guide for what to do before and after your session.
Which session should you book?
Most rentals are sold through the same booking platforms, so compare the 30- and 60-minute prices for your date before you commit – the per-minute rate drops sharply on the longer tour.
