🎭 Winter and Early Spring Events

Rockin' Race Jamboree – Early February

A multi-day rockabilly, rock'n'roll and rhythm & blues festival drawing thousands of enthusiasts from across Europe. Live bands perform on the promenade and at the Auditorio; daytime events and themed parties run throughout the town centre, Hotel La Barracuda and the La Nogalera bars.

Outdoor promenade stages are free; Auditorio concerts and club nights are ticketed. Adult-leaning event – best for fans of 1950s music and vintage style. Book hotels early as the La Nogalera area fills quickly with attendees.

Carnival (Carnaval) – Late February to Early March

Carnival 2026 runs approximately February 27–March 1. Costumed street parades, chirigotas (satirical singing groups in costume), children's fancy-dress contests and the Entierro de la Sardina (Burial of the Sardine) procession through San Miguel are the main events. Evening parties extend through La Nogalera with live bands and DJ stages.

Street parades and main events are free; individual club and pub-based parties charge a cover. Road closures around San Miguel and La Nogalera on parade days. Children's events at Parque de la Batería are the best family option. Book accommodation for the main weekend well ahead.

💡
The Burial of the Sardine on the final night of Carnival is the most unusual event on the Torremolinos calendar – a mock funeral procession through San Miguel for a sardine effigy, symbolising the end of excess before Lent. It's free, very local and almost entirely unknown to summer visitors.

St. Patrick's Day – Around March 14–15

Two-day party in Plaza La Nogalera with a large marquee, live music, DJ sets and Irish-themed entertainment from late morning to early evening. Free entry; drinks and food paid at stalls. Casual and adult-leaning – a daytime-to-evening event rather than a full club night. Easy to combine with a promenade walk before or after.

✝️ Semana Santa – March 29 to April 5 2026

Semana Santa is the most atmospheric religious event on the Torremolinos calendar. Local brotherhoods carry ornate pasos (floats depicting Passion scenes) through the central streets on each evening of Holy Week. Drum ensembles, incense and saetas – flamenco-style lament songs sung from balconies – accompany the processions. The Legionnaires march on Holy Thursday and Good Friday is the most dramatic element.

👨‍👩‍👧 Family

Free to watch from the street. Arrive early to secure a position at corners or side streets – Holy Thursday and Good Friday draw the largest crowds. Road closures across the centre on these two evenings; no parking near the procession route. Quiet, respectful behaviour expected along the route. Hotels fill and prices spike to near-summer levels during Easter week.

⚠️
Semana Santa hotel prices in Torremolinos match July–August rates. If your dates fall in Easter week 2026 (March 29–April 5), book accommodation at least 4–6 months in advance.

🌺 Spring Events

Darts Festival – April 5

Annual darts tournament at Sol Príncipe hotel on the promenade. Social-competitive format aimed at pub darts players and the local expat community. Free for spectators; players register in advance with a small entry fee. Not a major spectacle for general tourists but easy to combine with a La Carihuela lunch on the same day.

Cruces de Mayo – Late April to Early May

Cultural brotherhoods and associations build decorated floral crosses in plazas across the town – Plaza Chiriva in La Carihuela, Plaza Blas Infante, Plaza San Miguel, Plaza Costa del Sol and Avenida Palma de Mallorca among others. Each cross site has a small bar, food stall and live folk music through the afternoon and evening.

Entirely free. Best approached as a self-guided walk visiting three or four crosses in one evening. Very local, neighbourhood-scale crowds – one of the least-touristed events on the Torremolinos calendar and genuinely worth seeing for that reason.

🌈 LGBTQ+ Events

Torremolinos Pride – May 26 to June 6 2026

The largest LGBTQ+ event in southern Spain, drawing 30,000–50,000 people over the week. Multi-day programme of exhibitions, film screenings, community events and open-air concerts in La Nogalera. The main Pride parade runs on Saturday June 6 at approximately 5–6pm, starting from Plaza Blas Infante and ending at the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre.

The parade and street events are free. Circuit parties (Matrix Pride Edition, Palladium and others) are ticketed – wristbands and multi-day passes sold online via the event websites and gay travel portals. La Nogalera is extremely busy on parade weekend. Book accommodation months ahead; hotels and gay-friendly guesthouses in the La Nogalera area sell out earliest. Full scene context is in the LGBTQ+ guide.

LGBTQ+ Circuit Events – June to August

All four major circuit events are adult-oriented, gay-male-focused and almost entirely ticketed. Multi-day passes and single-event tickets are sold via each event's own website and gay travel portals. Book hotels in the La Nogalera area well ahead for all of these.

Infinity Festival runs June 17–21 at Los Álamos beach and Nogalera clubs – a beach-and-club format with the full circuit event vibe.

Love Fest runs approximately late July (similar dates to its July 24–27 2025 slot) at beach and club venues across the Nogalera circuit.

MadBear Festival runs approximately August 11–21 – bear and leather-leaning crowd, beach sessions and La Nogalera bars. Some beach sessions have free entry; most parties are ticketed.

Matrix Sun Festival runs approximately late August at Matrix-run venues and Nogalera spaces – fully ticketed, high-energy circuit format.

Leather/Fetish Weekend runs approximately May 7–10 at Eagle Torremolinos and nearby fetish venues. Ticketed parties with cover charges around ~€10–15 including drinks. Adults-only, 18-plus.

💡
For all LGBTQ+ circuit events, check the official event website for exact lineup and venue addresses before buying tickets – venues change year to year and third-party resellers sometimes list outdated information.

☀️ Summer Events

Montemar Fair – Around June 21–24

A small neighbourhood fair in the Montemar area starting with a mass in honour of St. John the Baptist, followed by a community procession, communal paella, live music and family activities. Modest local scale – mostly residents from the upper-town area. Free to attend; food and drinks paid at stalls. Authentic and quiet compared to the main town events.

Noche de San Juan – June 23

Beach bonfires on Los Álamos and La Carihuela on the summer solstice night. Locals jump over flames to purify themselves, burn papers with old habits written on them and make wishes. DJ sets, informal dancing and fireworks over the sea. Free. Beaches fill from late evening – arrive by 8–9pm to secure a spot on the sand. Public transport or taxi strongly advised; parking is very limited.

Los Álamos Fair – July 8

Single-day family fair at the Los Álamos sports ground and Plaza La Nogalera. Rides, bouncy castles, food stalls and a small stage. Combined with an international gastronomy and craft market across Plaza La Nogalera featuring stalls from over 15 countries. Free entry; rides and food paid at point of sale. Ideal for families staying in Los Álamos – easy to combine with a beach afternoon followed by the fair in the evening.

Feria del Carmen – Around July 15–19

La Carihuela's main annual event. A floral offering to the Virgen del Carmen is followed by the centrepiece: the Virgin's statue is carried to the beach, placed on a decorated boat and taken out to sea accompanied by local fishing boats. Evening programme includes music, street-food stalls and small fairground rides on the beachfront promenade.

Free to watch. Best views of the boat procession from La Carihuela pier and the upper promenade level. Book La Carihuela-area accommodation a few nights ahead if you want to be nearby for the July 16 main event.

Flamenco Festival – Late August

An evening gala-style flamenco concert featuring professional singers, dancers and guitarists, typically at the local bullring or as part of the late-summer cultural programme. Ticketed at approximately ~€15 per seat in recent editions. Adults and older teenagers; children may find the duration and format less engaging. Book via Torremolinos Cultura ticket platform in advance.

🍂 Autumn Events

Feria de San Miguel – September 25–29

The largest local fair in Torremolinos. Daytime programme includes traditional music, flamenco performances and costumed locals around the main square. Evenings shift to the Recinto Ferial (fairground) with casetas (tented bars), fairground rides, food stalls and concerts. Free entry throughout; rides and food paid separately.

🎡 Evenings

One of Torremolinos' largest annual events by local attendance. Very family-friendly during the day; mixed-age and party-oriented in the evenings. Expect noise and traffic around the Recinto Ferial until late if you're staying nearby.

Hispanic Day – October 12

Local authorities hold a mass for Nuestra Señora del Rosario followed by a small religious procession through the centre. Some civic and cultural events may be scheduled as part of the national holiday. Free. Quiet streets and some official closures around the town hall area. Worth noting if planning an October 12 visit but not a spectacle in its own right.

🎄 Winter Events

Christmas Wonderland – December 19 2025 to January 4 2026

Children's rides (mini ferris wheel, carousels), bouncy castles, Santa's Village, festive shows and Christmas market stalls at the gardens of the Pablo Ruiz Picasso Cultural Centre near Los Álamos. Free entry; individual rides and attractions cost approximately ~€1 each. Peak times are late afternoons and weekend evenings – expect queues for rides. Best for families with young children.

Three Kings Cavalcade – January 5

Evening parade of the Three Kings through the main town-centre streets with floats, marching bands and sweets thrown to children lining the pavements. Free. Arrive 30–45 minutes early for a good spot. Heavy pedestrian traffic along the route but no major road closures. The best free family event of the winter calendar.

Practical Tips for Event Planning

Book hotels well ahead for: Pride (June), Semana Santa (late March/early April), Carnival (late February), Feria de San Miguel (late September) and any LGBTQ+ circuit events. These are the five windows when central Torremolinos accommodation sells out fastest.

For ticketed circuit events (Infinity, MadBear, Love Fest, Matrix Sun), buy through the official event website rather than third-party resellers – venues and lineups change and some reseller listings are outdated.

The practical tips guide covers transport, parking and logistics around the town for event days.
