Benalmádena after dark is not one place, and the mistake that costs the most money is treating it as one. Puerto Marina is where you look at the boats and pay resort prices for a cocktail. Plaza Solymar, further along the coast road, is where the clubs actually are and where the night runs to about 07:00. Guides collapse the two into "the nightlife", and then people wonder why the marina is quiet at 01:00.
Behind both, inland, Arroyo de la Miel sells the same beer for around €2.50 and is where residents drink. Up the hill, the Pueblo closes early and is a dinner rather than a night. Venue names and status below were re-checked on 18 August 2026, and where the evidence was thin this page says so rather than rounding up.

The practical shape of a full evening is to move down that table rather than pick one line from it: eat inland, drink at the marina when the light is on the water, and only go to Solymar if you intend to be out past 02:00.
Early evening: Bil-Bil, the beach and the two rooftops
The best free hour of the night is at Castillo de Bil-Bil, the Moorish-style castle sitting directly on the beach on Avenida Antonio Machado, in the sixty minutes before sunset. A summer craft market runs alongside it daily from 18:00.

Right next to the castle, on the same avenue, is Maracas Beach Bil Bil – a chiringuito with a sea-view terrace doing cocktails, grilled dishes and a DJ, open through the day and into the night. Most nightlife guides file it under Puerto Marina. It is not there; it is on Bil-Bil beach, which is the reason it works as the sunset stop rather than the late one.
For height, two rooftops, both open to non-guests and both seasonal:
- Celeste Sky Bar, on top of the Spirit Hotel Benalmádena Beach. Walk through the lobby and take the lift. Cocktails run about €14–18, and the season runs roughly March or April to October or November.
- Nix Sky Bar, twelfth floor of the Hotel Benalma, adults only, cocktails about €12–16, open roughly March to October.
Both close for the winter, and neither publishes a firm reopening date in advance, so a February visit will find them shut. Book ahead for a weekend sunset table.
Puerto Marina after dark
The marina is the postcard and it is priced like one. Bars open from around 19:00, most venues run a dress code, and the atmosphere is at its best between sunset and about 01:00 – after which the people who are still going have left for Solymar.
Two venues have hours worth planning around:
- Kaleido – waterside on the marina, working as an all-day bar and kitchen from breakfast onwards and reported to run until about 04:00. It is the standard pre-club meeting point.
- El Desván – opens at about 19:00 and runs to roughly 03:00, with live music and a sixties leaning rather than a club sound.

Plaza Solymar: where the night runs to 07:00
Plaza Solymar, known locally as the 24 Hour Square, is the club heartland and it is a separate place from the marina. This is where the late circuit is, and where "the clubs do not fill until 01:30 or 02:00" is actually true.
Nösha VIP Club at Calle los Almendros 1 is the big room, running themed nights across the week. It is the venue most guides and directories still list as Kiu – that name has been off the door for years, the club having traded as Boa in between, so a listing that still says Kiu is stale rather than current. Same building, same square.
Mango's Night Club on the same square is really two venues in sequence. Beer Keller runs from about 21:00 as a bar with a resident DJ, and Mango's takes over and runs through to roughly 07:00. The changeover hour is the part nobody agrees on: published descriptions put it at midnight, at 02:00 and at 03:00.
This page previously gave Mango's as Thursday to Saturday, 22:00–06:00, and nothing we could find supports that – at least one listing describes Beer Keller as open every night. Take the two-part format as the reliable thing and the exact hours as approximate, checked in August 2026.
A third address gets swept into the club list and does not belong there. El Elefante, on Avenida de la Telefónica beside the old Bonanza square in central Benalmádena, is neither on Solymar nor at the marina.
It is also a cabaret and variety venue rather than a club: two live acts a night, seven nights a week, a dance floor that opens from midnight, and under-16s admitted with a parent. A family evening that finishes late.
Directory listings for Benalmádena also carry Caprice, Shenanigans, Luna Beach Club and Forever Beach Club. All four appear in current 2026 nightlife listings, none of them publishes hours or a season that could be verified in August 2026, and this page is not going to print times for them. Check on the night.
Arroyo de la Miel: the same drink, half the price
Arroyo de la Miel is the inland town rather than the coastal strip, and it is where the price collapses. Bars around the main pedestrian streets pour a beer at roughly €2.50, and a menú del día in the evening runs about €10–14 with wine included – broadly half the marina equivalent.
It is also the transport hub, which matters more than it sounds: the Cercanías station is here, so an evening that starts in Arroyo de la Miel can still end with a train if you finish before midnight. Pre-drinking here and moving to the coast later is the single biggest saving available in Benalmádena, and you miss nothing, because neither the marina nor Solymar is interesting before midnight anyway.
Benalmádena Pueblo, up the hill, is the fourth option and the shortest section on this page for a reason. A handful of restaurants, coast views, whitewashed streets, and then it stops. Getting back after midnight
Trains stop running around midnight from Arroyo de la Miel station. After that, taxis are the only reliable way home – the main ranks are at Puerto Marina and in Arroyo de la Miel town centre. No verified night bus service operates in Benalmádena.
The practical version: book the taxi before you need it. Finding one outside a busy club at 04:00 on a summer Saturday is not something to rely on, and Solymar empties all at once at closing. If you are heading to the airport the next morning, a Benalmádena to Málaga Airport transfer is fixed in advance and does not care what time you got in.
What to watch for
Benalmádena is safe in the main areas after dark, and the marina and seafront promenade stay well lit and busy through the season. Three specific things are worth knowing rather than a general warning.
- Plaza Solymar gets extremely crowded late, and pickpocketing is reported in busy late-night squares. Keep phones in pockets rather than on tables.
- Marina venues enforce dress codes. Arriving from the beach in flip-flops is the usual reason people get turned away, and Solymar is more relaxed about it than the marina.
- Touts outside some clubs push hard. You are under no obligation to go in, and the entry deal being offered is rarely better than the door price.
