Benalmádena at Night 2026: Bars, Clubs & Evening Guide

Benalmádena after dark is not one thing. Puerto Marina has cocktail bars, beach clubs and clubs that do not get busy until 02:00. Arroyo de la Miel has a dense strip of local bars where a beer costs under €3. The Pueblo closes early and suits a quiet dinner more than a night out. Which one you want depends entirely on what kind of evening you are after.

Quick Takeaways
  1. 01Puerto Marina peaks after 01:30 – if you arrive at 23:00 the bars will be half empty. Pre-drink in the square first.
  2. 02Clubs open around 23:00 but do not fill until after 01:30–02:00. Mango's runs Thursday to Saturday 22:00–06:00, Kiu from around 23:00 until sunrise.
  3. 03The Castillo de Bil-Bil summer market runs daily from 18:00 through the summer season – local crafts and artisan goods on the seafront.
  4. 04Best sunset spots: Castillo de Bil-Bil seafront, Puerto Marina waterfront, Celeste Sky Bar and Nix Sky Bar rooftops.
  5. 05Arroyo de la Miel is where locals drink – the same beer costs roughly half the marina price two streets inland.
  6. 06After midnight, trains stop running. Taxis are the only realistic late-night transport back to hotels.
  7. 07Plaza Solymar gets crowded very late – watch phones and valuables in busy late-night areas.

Early Evening – Sunset First

18:00–21:00 · Castillo de Bil-Bil · Rooftop bars · Marina walk

The best way to start an evening in Benalmádena is at the Castillo de Bil-Bil seafront. The Moorish-style castle sits directly on the beach and the light hits it well in the hour before sunset. The summer market runs daily from 18:00 through the summer season – local crafts, artisan goods and gifts from makers in the area.

For elevated views, two rooftop venues are worth knowing about. Celeste Sky Bar at Spirit Hotel Benalmádena Beach is currently operating as a seasonal sunset venue. Nix Sky Bar at Benalma Hotel Costa del Sol is also marketed as a sunset rooftop – confirm current seasonal status before visiting as rooftop bars in this area open and close seasonally.

Summer Market at Castillo de Bil-Bil

The market runs daily from 18:00 through the summer season – one current source puts the end date at 30 September, though this is not confirmed on the official municipal page. Check locally on arrival for exact dates and whether live music or food stalls are running alongside the craft market.

A walk along the Puerto Marina waterfront before dinner costs nothing and looks best in the hour after sunset when the boats reflect on the water.

Dinner – Where to Eat in the Evening

Puerto Marina · Arroyo de la Miel · Benalmádena Pueblo

The area determines the price more than the restaurant.

Puerto Marina is the most expensive option – waterfront dining with international menus and marina prices. Named evening venues currently operating include Kaleido on the waterside terrace, Maracas Beach for cocktails and food, and El Desván. Expect higher-end pricing – exact figures are not published officially but the marina consistently runs at resort rates.

Arroyo de la Miel is where locals eat in the evening. The bars around Plaza Solymar and the main pedestrian streets serve tapas at normal Spanish prices. A menú del día at dinner runs around €10–14 with wine included at local spots – roughly half what the same meal costs at the marina.

Benalmádena Pueblo is the quietest option – a handful of restaurants in the whitewashed village with views over the coast. Better for a slower dinner than a night out, and the drive back down to the coast afterwards is straightforward.

Take note
If budget matters, walk two streets back from the Puerto Marina waterfront. The same beer and the same tapas cost significantly less the moment you leave the tourist circuit. Arroyo de la Miel is the most practical base for an affordable evening.

Puerto Marina Nightlife

Cocktail bars · Beach clubs · Clubs until sunrise

Puerto Marina is the main nightlife circuit in Benalmádena. Bars open from around 19:00 for early evening drinks, but the atmosphere does not build properly until after midnight and the clubs do not fill until 01:30–02:00. If you arrive at a club at 23:00 you will be standing in a near-empty room.

Named venues currently operating:

  • Kaleido – terrace bar on the waterside, open until around 04:00
  • Maracas Beach – cocktails and food, beach-facing terrace
  • El Desván – evening bar in the marina circuit
  • Luna Beach Club – beach club format, evening programme
  • Shenanigans – pub-style venue in the marina area
  • El Elefante – cabaret and live performance venue

Drink prices at marina venues are not officially published. Current nightlife guides describe them as significantly more expensive than inland bars – club entry often ranges from €10–20 including one drink, though this should be verified on arrival as prices change seasonally.

Heads up
Marina bars charge resort prices in high season. Pre-drinking in Arroyo de la Miel or the Plaza Solymar area before moving to the marina later saves money without missing anything – the marina does not get interesting until after midnight anyway.

Clubs – The Late Night Circuit

Opens 23:00 · Fills after 01:30 · Until sunrise

Benalmádena has a genuine club scene concentrated around Puerto Marina and Plaza Solymar. Current venues:

  • Mango's Night Club – Thursday to Saturday, 22:00–06:00
  • Kiu – opens around 23:00, closes at sunrise; multi-room format
  • Caprice – marina area club
  • Forever Beach Club – beach club transitioning to club format at night
  • Bonanza / Plaza Solymar – cluster of clubs around the main square

Dress codes are stricter at marina clubs than at Plaza Solymar venues. Arriving straight from the beach in flip-flops will likely get you turned away at the marina.

Late Night Transport

Trains stop running just after midnight. After that, taxis are the only reliable way back to your hotel. No verified night bus service exists in Benalmádena. Arrange a taxi in advance or use a ride app – do not count on finding one easily at 04:00 outside a busy club.

Safety at Night

Benalmádena is generally safe in the main tourist areas. The marina and seafront promenade are well-lit and busy through the summer season.

Areas to be aware of: Plaza Solymar gets very crowded late at night and pickpocketing is reported in busy late-night squares. Keep phones in pockets rather than on tables, avoid carrying valuables loosely and stay in well-lit areas.

Practical advice:

  • Watch drinks on terraces – do not leave them unattended
  • Marina clubs enforce dress codes – no flip-flops or beachwear
  • Book a taxi before you need one after midnight
  • Touts outside some clubs can be aggressive – you are not obliged to enter

Getting Back to Your Hotel

After midnight the options narrow. Trains stop running around midnight from Arroyo de la Miel station. Taxis are available throughout the night – the main ranks are at Puerto Marina and Arroyo de la Miel town centre.

If you are staying outside Benalmádena and came in for the evening, arrange your return transfer in advance.

Plan Your Evening
Choose this if...
Start at the Castillo de Bil-Bil seafront for sunset and the summer market from 18:00. Eat in Arroyo de la Miel for local prices – move to the marina later. Arrive at clubs after 01:30 – arriving earlier means waiting in a quiet room. Book a rooftop table at Celeste or Nix in advance for sunset drinks. Arrange your taxi back before midnight so you are not searching at 04:00.
Avoid this if...
Do not arrive at marina clubs before midnight expecting atmosphere – it will not be there yet. Do not leave phones on tables at busy outdoor bars in Plaza Solymar. Do not wear beachwear to marina clubs – dress codes are enforced. Do not count on finding a taxi easily after 03:00 without booking ahead. Do not pay marina prices all evening – Arroyo de la Miel is significantly cheaper for the same drink.

Daytime plans, and where to stay for easy access to all this, are in the Benalmádena travel guide.
