Is Bioparc worth a visit?
Bioparc is the one attraction most visitors plan a day around. Its own website describes a "zoo-immersion" model, with faithful recreations of animal habitats and mainly natural barriers such as vegetation and water instead of cages, according to Bioparc Fuengirola.
The park is on Calle Camilo José Cela in the middle of town, and it says it opens 365 days a year. We do not print ticket prices or hours, because both change. Check the park's site before you go.
What is Castillo Sohail?
Castillo Sohail is the hilltop castle beside the river, just inland from Playa del Castillo at the western end of the seafront, according to the Ayuntamiento's map. The Ayuntamiento manages it.
The castle complex also hosts the Marenostrum concert series in the warm season, according to the Ayuntamiento. We found no municipal page stating whether ordinary visits are free or ticketed, so check the Ayuntamiento before you climb.
Which Fuengirola beach should you pick?
Fuengirola has four official beach zones: El Castillo, Fuengirola, Los Boliches-Las Gaviotas and Carvajal, along about 7 km of coast, according to Somos Fuengirola. The 7 km is the coastline, not the length of the paved promenade.
Blue Flags are awarded each year, and the 2026 Blue Flag list names Boliches-Gaviotas, Carvajal, Castillo-Ejido and Fuengirola. The Ayuntamiento also provides adapted-bathing areas at all four, according to its adapted-beach report.
Can you see dolphins from Fuengirola?
Dolphin-watching cruises leave from the Puerto Deportivo, the marina on the Paseo Marítimo that shares its harbour with the fishing port, according to the Ayuntamiento's map. It also supports sailing, diving, deep-sea fishing and water sports.
Turismo Fuengirola lists Fuengirola Sea Trips as a marina-based excursion company. We found no operator wording that guarantees a sighting, so read each company's terms before you book.
What is there on a Tuesday or a Sunday?
The main street market is on Tuesday at the Recinto Ferial, and the Sunday market is on Calle Méndez Núñez, according to the Ayuntamiento's maps for the Tuesday market and the Sunday market.
The Mercado Municipal is on Avenida de los Boliches 101, according to the Ayuntamiento's map. Market locations can move, so check the Ayuntamiento's pages if you plan around one.
Does Fuengirola have an old town?
Yes, and its centre is Plaza de la Constitución, which holds the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Rosario, according to the Ayuntamiento's map. Turismo Fuengirola names Plaza Chinorros and Calle Moncayo as the main pedestrian and tapas area, according to its food page.

When are the big fiestas?
Four big fiestas recur at the same time each year: the Feria Internacional de los Países in April and May, the Noche de San Juan in June, the Virgen del Carmen feria in July and the Feria del Rosario in October, according to the Ayuntamiento's programmes. The Virgen del Carmen feria is held in Los Boliches.
